Meanwhile in Indonesia,

a civil servant has just been arrested for posting a Facebook Status that says "Tuhan tidak ada" - There is no God. He was confronted with an angry mob at his workplace and was arrested by the police for  'provocation' on the base of UU ITE pasal 27 ayat 3 that bands insult through electronic document and Pasal 263 KUHP about document infringement (He wrote in his ID card that he is Moslem)

Sometimes I cannot help but think that this country is run and populated mainly by idiots. This is just my opinion though, and an opinion judged from their point of view on religion. It seems that it's not fair, but I think, why not? Based on the case above I'm doing what the ignorant mass is doing to the atheist. I am now going to judge them with their own way.

Isn't it odd when the religions in Indonesia (which is only 5) talks about God in a forum, they would talk about how, well the Gods in our religions are different so we cannot really talk about it, but we should really talk about how good and nice religions are and how we should respect each other and not call each other's Gods lame. But when a person, on his own Facebook page, says that 'There is no God', suddenly it is everyone's God. And suddenly God needs defending. Suddenly it is an act of insult to ALL religion when  it's actually only a statement of what he believes in. Like when Moslems would write 'I believe in Mohammed SAW" or when a Christian would write "Jesus is God".

The atheist is charged with provocation with a legislation piece that suggest it a criminal act to persuade someone not to believe in God. (please visualize my hand gesture here) Facebook status … Moslem  riot. Facebook status … burn a church on christmas day. Facebook status … terrorize a church for just being there. True, some of these cases are made a criminal act by the government, because they involve threat to one of the selected religion choice in Indonesia (there are 6). And isn't it odd when Indonesia is a democratic country, but you can only choose to believe in one of the 6 religions already chosen by the government? And if you believe in something other than those select few you are a criminal? Here we see the kind of disjunction that is created by meddling religions with democracy.
